Yes. All estimates are 100% free with no obligation. A technician will assess your job, take precise measurements, and provide a detailed written quote before any work begins. You'll always know the full scope and cost before we touch anything.
Absolutely. Edge Glass is fully licensed, bonded, and insured across all states we operate in, Virginia, Maryland, DC, and Pennsylvania. We carry comprehensive liability insurance and workers' compensation, so you're fully protected throughout the project.
Yes. We stand behind every job with a workmanship guarantee. If something isn't right after we've completed a project, we'll come back and fix it, at no additional charge. We also pass along any manufacturer warranties on glass products.
Very little preparation is needed. Clear the immediate area around the glass if possible (furniture, curtains, valuables). Make sure our technician can access the work area easily. If it's an exterior project, having a parking spot nearby is helpful. We'll handle the rest, including complete cleanup.
Yes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Broken glass is both a safety hazard and a security risk. We offer same-night emergency boarding and rapid glass replacement so your home or business is never left vulnerable. Call us immediately: (202) 352-8767.
Response times vary by location and time of day, but for most emergency calls within our core service area, we can have a technician on-site within 2–4 hours. For same-day glass replacement (vs. boarding), timing depends on glass availability for your specific size and type.
When glass is broken and replacement can't happen immediately (due to time of day or glass availability), we secure the opening with plywood or polycarbonate sheeting to protect your property from weather, insects, and unauthorized entry. We then return to install the permanent glass as quickly as possible.
In most cases, yes. Foggy or cloudy double-pane windows are caused by a failed seal, allowing moisture to enter the space between the panes. Rather than replacing the entire window frame and sash, we can replace just the insulated glass unit (IGU), the glass itself, saving you significant cost while fully restoring clarity and insulation performance.
A typical frameless shower door installation takes 2–4 hours on the day of installation. However, the process starts with a measurement visit, followed by custom glass fabrication (usually 1–2 weeks depending on the glass type and complexity), and then the installation appointment. We'll give you a precise timeline when we assess your project.
We offer a range of glass types for shower enclosures: clear tempered glass (most popular), low-iron ultra-clear glass for maximum transparency, frosted/satin glass for privacy, patterned glass, and various hardware finishes including matte black, brushed nickel, chrome, and oil-rubbed bronze. We'll walk you through the options during your consultation.
For most cracked window panes, replacement is the better option. Glass repairs (like epoxy fills) are temporary and compromise clarity. Replacing just the glass pane is often more affordable than people expect, especially when the frame is still in good condition. We'll give you an honest assessment and recommend the most cost-effective solution.

Yes. We're experienced with the insurance claim process and can work directly with your insurance adjuster. We provide detailed documentation, photos, and itemized invoices to support your claim. Just let us know at the time of booking that it's an insurance job.
